Ali’s Go-To Chocolate Protein Balls

May 21, 2025

Ali’s Go-To Chocolate Protein Balls

Quick, plant-based, and perfectly poppable

Most energy balls are packed with nut butters, making them higher in fat than protein. But not these! This simple, satisfying recipe uses PBfit to keep the flavor you love while lowering the fat and boosting the protein.

Each ball is approximately:
60 calories | 3g protein | 1g fat | 9g carbs

Perfect for an afternoon snack, post-workout bite, or sweet treat without the crash.

Makes: 15 balls
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Equipment: Food processor

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup PBfit or PB2

  • 1 scoop chocolate plant-based protein powder

  • 8 Medjool dates, pitted

  • ½ cup water

Optional Add-Ins

  • A dash of cinnamon

  • A few mini chocolate chips

  • A pinch of sea salt

  • A splash of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add oats, PBfit, protein powder, dates, and water to a food processor.

  2. Blend until a thick, sticky dough forms and everything is well combined.

  3. Scrape down the sides as needed. If the mixture is too dry, add a splash more water.

  4. Scoop and roll into 15 equal balls.

  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week—or freeze for longer storage.
