Oil-Free Sweet and Spicy Snacking Nuts

Sweet and Spicy Snacking Nuts
Serves 8 • Total Time: 15 minutes-1 hour • FODMAP rating: low

A simple but upscale snack that would be great to set out while other food is being prepared for the holiday feast!

4 cups mixed nuts, ideally raw and unsalted
⅓ cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoon salt, only if using unsalted nuts
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika

Preheat the oven to 275°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil or use an oil spray.
In a large bowl, combine the maple syrup, olive oil, cayenne, cinnamon, smoked paprika, and rosemary.
Add nuts and toss to combine thoroughly.
Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even single layer.
Roast until the nuts are mostly dry and browned about 40 to 50 minutes.
Remove from the oven and set the pan on a wire rack, allowing nuts to cool for about an hour. Break nuts up into pieces and store in an airtight container.
