Kale Smoothie

Kale can be a finicky plant for people to enjoy due to its natural bitterness and texture. It belongs to the leaf cabbage group and can be purple or green. Kale contains vitamin A and C which facilitate immune health as well as folate for brain development and also contains omega-3 essential fatty acids! Lutein and zeaxanthin are nutrients that give kale its deep dark green color and are protective against macular degeneration and cataracts.
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk
1 apple, core removed
½ banana
¾ cup coconut water
½ cup frozen or fresh pineapple
3 handfuls chopped kale
Instructions
Blend all ingredients in a blender and add more liquid for a thinner consistency and ice for a thicker consistency.
